Havnehyggen: Tejn's nicest location
A spacious and hospitable house, Havnehyggen overlooks Tejn Harbor. This is a beautiful, scenic, sheltered working harbor offering many recreational activities including fishing, sailing and even a sauna and hot tub by the seashore. The lovely little white sand beach cove provides a refreshing Baltic Sea ‘dip’!
Stroll along the peaceful harbor for a nice morning reverie or pack a picnic for an afternoon of sun fun on the beach! Stop in at the local microbrewery, at Penyllan, a short ‘hop’ from your front door! Head north to the delightful Kyst Stien Coast path weaving along the rocky coastline and by preening swans towards Sandkås and Allinge/Sandvig. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the delightful, expansive white sand beach bathed in gentle waves or soak up some sun and bask in the welcoming warmth of this quiet community.
Havenhyggen welcomes in the special cheery, nurturing sunshine of Bornholm (outside and in). Tejn, is a lovely village overlooking the sea on the Northeast Coast. The host of the annual “Trolling Master Bornholm” event in which hundreds participate from near and far, pleasure vessels and commercial fishermen share the roomy, secluded harbor year round! 
From Havnehyggen, you can enjoy watching the bustle of the harbor from your 2nd story balcony or join in by fishing from the pier, putting your boat in the water for a day at sea or go on a fishing trip to seek out salmon, trout, cod or whatever is drawn to your lore that day.
Bornholm’s has the best fishing areas for sea-going trout [Havørred – Salmo Trutta Trutta ] in the Baltic. The fishing in and around both the harbor or the coast line around Tejn is some of Bornholm’s best. Even in the summer time you can catch the sea-going trout from the coast – this is due to Bornholm’s unique environment with deep cold waters close to shore. Beside trout and salmon - cod, herring, mackerel, and different type of flounders are plentiful during the summer season both from the coast and from a boat. Walk or take a bicycle ride to one of the many sites in nearby surrounding areas! There is truly something for everyone! Close by you can visit the Art Museum of Bornholm. Also nearby is Olsker Rundkirke or take a hike to some of the most stunning ocean views in the Hammersknude preserve by lighthouses and lambs.
A “must see” is Hammershus Slot, an impressive old castle overlooking the sea that was built back in the 1200’s (one of the oldest in Northern Europe). A short drive or bus ride away is Østerlars Rundkirke a large, impressive ancient round church built back in the 1100’s, towards the end of the Viking Age. Take in some of picturesque coastal villages all around Bornholm with compelling artist communities including glass blowing studios with fascinating on-going demonstrations and shops. Enjoy the good eating at the excellent eateries in Gudhjem and Allinge/Sandvig. All of these sites can be accessed by bike, a hike or the local bus! (Havnehyggen is conveniently located along 5 of the island’s 10 regular bus routes [in season route 1, 4, 2, 7 & 8] or, out of season [route 1, 4, & 2], 3 regular bus routes are running right by your front door
Be sure to dine at Skipperkroen in Tejn or at the Nord Bornholms’ Røgeri in nearby Allinge, considered by many chefs to be one of the island’s best smokeries! If you enjoy golf, try out the intriguing Rø Golf Course. Along the way stop in for a visit at Gudhjem Glass-smokeri or the Glass Cottage and/or the Baltic Sea Glass and watch the fascinating glass blowers in action!
